GabbleGames Terms of Service
Last updated: 2026-10-24
These terms are an agreement between you and Dreamaspect ([PLACEHOLDER: legal entity name], [PLACEHOLDER: address]; [PLACEHOLDER: contact email]) — "we" — for every GabbleGames game: CarromTalk, LudoTalk, ChessMingle, BackgammonTalk, SpadesTalk, 29Talk, CuePub, CheckersTalk, GutiTalk, MorrisTalk and the GabbleGames app, on the web, Android and iOS ("the games").
By creating an account or playing, you agree to these terms, our Privacy Policy and our Community Guidelines. If you don't agree, don't use the games.
1. Who can play
- You must be at least 13 (or older where your country requires it). The games ask yes/no age questions at sign-up; answer them truthfully.
- If you're 13 to 17, a parent or guardian must agree to these terms for you. Your account is a minor account: free tables only, no purchases, no gifts, no ads, and kept apart from adults (Privacy Policy, section 8).
- If you answer that you're under 13, that sign-in can't make an account on any device.
2. Your account
You sign in with Google, Apple or Facebook (where offered). One person, one account per sign-in. Keep your sign-in secure: anything done from your account counts as done by you. Don't sell, share or transfer your account. The GabbleGames app may need an invitation to join; the other games don't.
3. The games
- The games are social board and card games with rooms, chat and voice. We may add, change or remove games, tables, modes, features and matching rules at any time.
- Robots. When no person is free, a computer player ("robot") may fill a seat. Robots have made-up names, flags and portraits; their seat shows a robot badge in the game. Some robots talk in the room's call, using AI. A robot plays by the game's rules and sees only what every player sees (and, in a card game while you're alone with it, your own hand, to talk about it). At a coin table we put up the robot's entry: beat it and you win its entry; lose and your entry stays with us. How many coins you can win from robots in a day is capped.
- Ratings, leaderboards and win streaks are for fun and can be reset.
4. Coins, gems, items and VIP
What they are. Coins, gems, looks and other items ("virtual items") are a limited, personal, revocable licence to use a feature in the games. You don't own them, and they are not money, property or a currency.
- Coins are earned free (welcome grant for adults, daily claims, refills, rewarded ads, wins and streaks) and, in countries where we sell them, bought by adults. They are staked at tables, where the winner takes the pot less a 10% fee.
- Gems are bought with money, belong to the game they were bought in, and buy looks and gifts. They are never staked.
- Looks change how a game looks, not how it plays.
No cash value. Virtual items can never be cashed out, redeemed, exchanged for money or anything of value, sold, traded or transferred outside the games, by anyone, ever — the games have no way to do it. Buying, selling or trading accounts or virtual items outside the games is forbidden. Because nothing of real-world value can be won, coin tables are not gambling, and we don't offer real-money games.
We may change them. We may change prices, stakes, fees, rewards and what virtual items do, or remove them, and correct a balance that a bug, a refund or a breach of these terms got wrong. A refunded or charged-back purchase is taken back, and can leave a balance below zero.
5. Purchases
- Only adults can buy. Prices are shown before you pay and include tax where the law requires.
- Web: payments are taken by Stripe. Phones: by the Apple App Store or Google Play, under their terms.
- A purchase is delivered to your account at once. Coin packs are not sold in some countries.
- Right of withdrawal (EU, UK and similar laws): you have 14 days to withdraw from a purchase of digital content, but you lose that right once delivery starts. By buying, you ask us to deliver at once and agree that you lose the right of withdrawal when we do.
- Refunds: virtual items are non-refundable, except where the law says otherwise or a purchase was not delivered, was charged twice, or was not made by you. Purchases on the App Store or Google Play are refunded by them, under their rules; for web purchases, write to [PLACEHOLDER: contact email].
- If we close a game for good, we'll tell you at least 30 days before.
6. VIP subscription
- VIP is sold per game or for every game, monthly or yearly. It gives: no ads, free gems each day, a free look each month, and a relay that helps calls connect. We may change the perks; we'll tell you before a change that takes something away.
- It renews automatically at the end of each period, at the price then shown, until you cancel. Cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends to avoid the next charge.
- Free trial: the yearly plan can start with a 3-day free trial (one per account). Unless you cancel before it ends, it becomes a paid yearly subscription.
- Cancel where you subscribed: on the web, write to [PLACEHOLDER: contact email] and we cancel it the same day; on iPhone, in Settings → your name → Subscriptions; on Android, in Google Play → Payments & subscriptions. Cancelling keeps VIP until the end of the period already paid; we don't refund part periods, unless the law requires it.
- If the price goes up, we'll tell you before it applies, and you can cancel.
7. Rooms, chat and voice
- Follow the Community Guidelines. Don't harass, threaten, impersonate or share illegal content, and never anything involving the exploitation of a minor.
- Other people in a room or chat see and hear what you send there. The chat filter hides email addresses, phone numbers and slurs (and, for minors, links, handles and swearing). We review what is reported to us, including the copies of messages a report carries; we may also use automated tools to spot abuse.
- Room owners can kick, ban, mute and lock their rooms, and broadcast a room; your chat and voice appear in a broadcast only if you agree.
- Play nearby connects to any phone close by: use it with people you know. It is for adults only.
8. Your content
What you send — messages, photos, voice, videos, names, captions — stays yours. You give us a worldwide, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, copy, transmit and show it only as needed to run, secure and moderate the games (for example, to deliver your message or show your clip to people you share it with). This licence ends when the content is deleted, except for copies others already have and copies we must keep by law or for a report.
Only send content you have the right to share. If you believe something in the games infringes your copyright, write to [PLACEHOLDER: contact email or designated copyright agent] with what it is, where it is, and your contact details; we remove infringing content and close the accounts of repeat infringers.
9. Fair play — what's not allowed
Besides the Community Guidelines, you agree not to:
- use cheats, bots, scripts, modified apps or any tool that plays for you or changes results, balances or items (our own robots excepted);
- make several accounts to collect grants or rewards, or to get round a ban, the age rules or a limit;
- exploit a bug instead of reporting it;
- buy, sell or trade accounts or virtual items, or offer real money or anything of value for them, in or out of the games;
- fake your location or country to get a feature, price or table;
- abuse refunds, chargebacks or free trials;
- reverse-engineer, scrape, overload or attack the games;
- use the games for anything illegal.
10. Suspension and ending your account
We may warn you, mute you, remove content, reset winnings, or suspend or close your account if you break these terms or the law, if you put others at risk, or if we must by law — where we can, we'll tell you why, and you can ask us to look again by writing to [PLACEHOLDER: contact email]. A closed account loses its virtual items without refund, unless the law says otherwise. We report child exploitation to the authorities.
You can delete your account at any time (Me → Account → Delete account, or see Delete your account). Deleting cancels nothing you subscribed to through Apple or Google: cancel there first.
11. Health and safety
Take breaks. Some people have seizures when they see flashing lights or patterns; if you've ever had one, ask a doctor before playing. If anyone in the games threatens to harm themselves or others, report it; in an emergency, contact your local emergency services.
12. Ads
Adults who aren't VIP may see ads from Google (AdSense on the web, AdMob in the phone apps): rewarded ads you choose to watch, and an ad between games. Minors never see ads. An advertiser's offer is its own, not ours.
13. App stores
If you got the game from the Apple App Store or Google Play, their terms also apply. For an iPhone app: these terms are between you and us, not Apple; Apple has no duty to support or maintain the app and isn't responsible for any claim about it; if the app fails its warranty, you may tell Apple, which may refund its price (if any), and Apple has no other warranty duty; Apple and its subsidiaries can enforce these terms as a third party.
14. Our liability
The games are provided "as is" and "as available". We don't promise they will always work, be error-free, or that matchmaking, robots or results will be perfect.
As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of virtual items, and our total liability for any claim is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before it (or [PLACEHOLDER: a nominal amount, e.g. USD 50] if you paid nothing).
Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law doesn't let us limit — for example for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your rights as a consumer under the law where you live (such as the right to a service as described).
15. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We'll change the date above and, for a material change, tell you in the app at least 30 days before it applies (or at once, if the law or safety requires). If you don't agree, stop using the games and delete your account; if you keep playing after the change, you accept it.
16. Law and disputes
Please write to us first: most problems are solved that way, and we'll try for 30 days before either of us goes further.
These terms are governed by the laws of [PLACEHOLDER: governing law], and disputes go to the courts of [PLACEHOLDER: venue]. If you're a consumer in the EU, UK or another country whose law protects you, you keep that protection and can bring a claim in your own country's courts. EU consumers can also use the EU's Online Dispute Resolution platform.
17. General
If a part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies. If we don't enforce a term at once, we haven't given it up. We may transfer these terms to a company that takes over the games; we'll tell you if we do.
18. Contact
[PLACEHOLDER: contact email]
Before this goes live — still to do
- Fill the placeholders: legal entity, address, contact email, copyright agent, liability amount, governing law and venue.
- Lawyer review, in particular: whether coin tables with bought coins fall outside each market's gambling and "real money game" rules (India's Online Gaming Act 2025, US states such as Washington); the house-staked robots and the 10% fee; a US arbitration clause and class-action waiver (left out for now); minors' consent; the refund and right-of-withdrawal wording against each store's rules.
- Code to match these terms: a Cancel button for web VIP (Stripe's customer portal) before live web sales — US auto-renewal laws want cancelling online to be as easy as subscribing; the purchase screens should ask for the right-of-withdrawal consent before paying (EU/UK); robots should be marked on their card and on the results screen, not only in their seat; Delete account should warn that store subscriptions must be cancelled in the store.
